Events of the resort year
An inevitable part of the Pärnu health resort is the active, creativity-driven cultural life of its residents. Here one can enjoy music, there are museums and art galleries to be explored and handicraft workshops offering fun work.
The centres of the cultural life in the city are Endla Theatre and the Pärnu Concert Hall, which both offer inspiring theatre as well as the sound of music for local residents and visitors. In addition, Pärnu is also known for its festivals. 2013 begins with the Pärnu Contemporary Music Days, which gains momentum from the Ice Festival, held in the coldest month of winter. In March, Pärnu invites you to experience the concerts and workshops of the music festival “Muusikamoos”. In April, Pärnu Day marks the city’s 762nd anniversary, followed by the Health and welfare week. The spring brings about the Pärnu Traditional Music Days and the exhibition of modern art in Pärnu. The Pärnu I Gymnastics Party and the food culture festival Grillfest already kick start the summer festivals at the beginning of June. Also in the anniversary summer one can enjoy the summer music concerts at the Ranna bandstand, share in the 100th anniversary festivities of Raimond Valgre and, of course, the street festival ‘Augustiunetus’ (Night of the Arts). Besides the above, there are a large number of other events being held in the anniversary year. You can read more about them in the Pärnu City culture calendar at kultuur.parnu.ee.
